BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A Baltimore man has been sentenced in North Dakota to eight years and four months in federal prison on weapons charges.
Thirty-eight-year-old Charles Ochlech (OH'-klek) pleaded guilty in August to possession of firearms by a convicted felon.
Acting U.S. Attorney Lynn Jordheim says authorities found an AK-47 rifle in Ochlech's Dickinson apartment in October 2007 and two handguns in his pickup. Ochlech was prohibited from possessing guns because of felony assault and burglary convictions in Maryland.
Ochlech was accused of stealing the guns, the pickup and some tools from his employer, a South Carolina construction company called Kirksey Co. that was working at a site near Billings, Mont. Ochlech was sentenced in Montana in August 2008 to five years in prison. He will begin serving the federal sentence at the same time.
