Deer killed by hunters drops 12 percent

(WDAY TV) - Minnesota deer hunters killed almost 12 percent fewer deer than last year, but the DNR says it's what they were expecting.

(WDAY TV) - Minnesota deer hunters killed almost 12 percent fewer deer than last year, but the DNR says it's what they were expecting.

Since the firearms season opened on November 7th, hunters took about 151-thousand deer or about 20-thousand fewer than last year.

The buck harvest is down about 12-hundred compared to last year. Muzzleloader season opens Saturday.
