US team hockey champs return to the Force

(WDAY Sports) - Matt Leitner's head is still kind of spinning, but life is getting back to some form of normal. The Fargo Force forward and teammates Colton St. Clair and Aymon McDermott helped the US team win a gold medal at the Junior A World Challenge in Canada a couple weeks ago.

It was a great experience and a lot of fun.

“It was awesome just wearing your country's colors. It was my first time and it was a lot of fun and a great experience for me along with Colton and we came out with a goal and it made it that much better.”

“It helps them in the experience they gained it potentially could hurt them for a small amount of time maybe just a couple weeks after just mentally and physically, but for our guys it gave our other guys a chance to play more and gave us a chance to evaluate a couple of the other guys.”

The Force are at Des Moines tonight.
