Being a Swede myself I had to love this. Henrik Anderson scores a goal in the Swedish Tier 2 league and is so fired up he goes right through the glass. We Swedes like a good celebration, but hey Henrik, maybe a good fist pump will suffice.
Ron Gardenhire didn't win Manager of the Year, but nobody did a better job. Minus Morneau and two top line starters for the stretch run and they still won the division.
I thought Brad Childress was getting too little credit for a lot of things last year, but right now I think he's getting a little too much and talk of a contract extension seems a little premature to me. He's got another year next season and with the issues of the past, not too far in the past, I don't see any reason to do this now.
Give him credit for some great draft picks. Chad Greenway, Adrian Peterson, Sidney Rice to name just three and you have to say he had a big part in the Brett Favre signing, but let's be honest about this team and why it's good.
It's because Zygi Wilf has spent about the equivalent of our national debt to bring in players. Jared Allen, Steve Hutchinson, Bernard Berrian to name just a few and don't forget that if Zygi would have said no to the 20 million dollar contract, Brett Favre wouldn't be here either.
I'm not saying he doesn't deserve the new deal. I just don't know that we really know how good a coach he is. We'll have a better idea in January.
