MSUM alums try out beer making class

(WDAY TV) - It's not you're usual way to appeal to the younger crowd, but MSUM is trying something new. It held a beer making class at President Edna Szymanski's house tonight.

A renowned Biosciences professor taught about 30 young alumni how to make homemade brew. The idea, to get young graduates to know the university still and to try to get money for scholarships.

President Zzymanski says the school is losing alumni so a unique event like this is desperately needed.

“Our younger alums don't want to go you know one of those boring garden parties, or something like that. They want something kind of happening.”

University leaders checked ID's and double checked with registration records to make sure everyone was legal.
