Moorhead schools are required to pay for tutoring after low test scores

(WDAY TV) - The Moorhead school district is being required to pay private companies to tutor some students this year under federal law.

(WDAY TV) - The Moorhead school district is being required to pay private companies to tutor some students this year under federal law.

Because Ellen Hopkins and Robert Asp schools didn't meet testing targets under no child let behind for the third consecutive year. The district is being required to cover tutoring for students who qualify for free and reduced-price lunch.

It will cost the district about $193-thousand dollars which has already been set aside. More than 660 students are eligible for the tutoring.
