A graduate of Northern Cass School had a close call during the recent Fort Hood shootings.
(WDAY TV) - A graduate of Northern Cass School had a close call during the recent Fort Hood shootings. In Fargo today, the mother of Staff Sergeant Doug Smith says her son lost many friends in the shooting.
Smith is on his way to the Middle East for his third deployment and a delay at a processing center kept Smith from joining his friends who were lost.
“He has been to Iraq twice like a lot of those who were wafting, and so it brought up a lot of emotions.”
Rae has two boys in the military. In a few months, both will be deployed.
