Decorations get underway in Grand Forks

(WDAZ TV) - With 40 days to go, it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas across many communities. In Grand Forks this morning, drivers were forced to make detours on Demers Avenue.

Crews shut down the road for a couple hours to put up loads of holiday decorations. Lights around trees and draped across the street have people in the Christmas spirit.

"As soon as I came around the corner and saw them putting up the lights, I was so excited, I let out a little squeal and it just gets me right in the mood. I love the brightness, I especially love coming down here at night during the winter and seeing all the lights up, it's very exciting."

Many people say, they notice once the decorations are up; people tend to be in better moods!
