FARGO – A police dog sniffed out a mix of drugs during a traffic stop early today, Fargo police Sgt. Mark Lykken said.

A patrol officer stopped a 1995 Cadillac driving with its headlights off at about 3:23 a.m. in the 50 block of South University Drive. The officer called in a K-9 unit because the driver was acting nervous, Lykken said.

The dog, Koa, led officers to methamphetamine, ecstasy and marijuana inside the car, Lykken said, adding the drugs were packaged in a way they could be sold.

Matthew Tollefson, 24, of Erhard, Minn., was arrested on suspicion of drug possession with intent to distribute, as well as possession of drug paraphernalia and driving under suspension.

Erhard is about 50 miles southeast of Fargo.
