(WDAY Sports) - If experience is the best teacher, then the Ada-Borup football team should be full of smart guys this week. The fourth ranked Cougars take their 11-0 record into the state quarterfinals Friday in Duluth.
They play Cromwell in the nine man quarters, and in many ways it's a trip down memory lane. They advanced to the state semis last year and say that trip makes this one a little easier.
“We learned how to win to close out games, and this game coming up same time in Duluth last year; it's going to help us a lot being in the same position.”
“When you have that experience like they've had over the last couple of years playing in the section championship game playing in the state tournament, you don't have to do much as a coach and that's pretty nice.”
It should be a great game. Cromwell is 10-1 and has given up just 8 points over the last five games.
