CERT, or Community Emergency Responders Team, is designed to help area students learn what it takes to be a leader in a crisis. Fargo fire fighters taught Oak Grove students how to perform rescue lifts and how to drag a potential victim from a fire.

“In case something were to happen and you know most people might freak out and panic and not know what to do. Hopefully I’ll be able to be the one that stays calm and thinks clearly and figure out what to do.”

Ullen-Hitterdal High School is starting a teen CERT program this spring which will be the first such program in Minnesota.
