Clay County cuts some compensation from its budget

(WDAY TV) - Clay County is finding unique ways to cut its budget. It's now giving less compensation for employees driving county vehicles or their own for work.
Clay County workers were getting 55 cents a mile. Now they'll get 40 cents. The County Commissioner says this small cut will save the county 35-thousand dollars.
"What we have to deal with as to what kind of services we would have to cut or what kind of staff reductions we'll have to make in 2011 and 2012."
The county is also still on hiring and raise freeze.
