JAMESTOWN, N.D. (AP) — Officials are starting work on a $52 million hospital in Jamestown.
A groundbreaking ceremony for the 25-bed critical access facility was planned Wednesday.
The Jamestown Regional Medical Center's board earlier announced it had been awarded $46 million in loans from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Rural Development agency.
Agency officials say the hospital is the largest community facilities project that Rural Development has done in North Dakota.
The 117,000-square-foot hospital will be the centerpiece of a 43-acre campus.
Dallas Tonsager, USDA's under secretary for rural development, was scheduled to attend Wednesday's ceremony, along with Gov. John Hoeven and members of North Dakota's congressional delegation.
