(WDAY TV) - Good news for North Dakotans, you can expect some tax breaks in the coming year. The 2009 state legislative session passed 295 million dollars in property tax relief, and 100 million dollars in income tax relief.
The North Dakota Tax Commissioner broke down the changes with local CPAs so they can better help you get the relief you deserve in the coming tax season.
“To the public, we're trying to get out to them as well the word that tax relief is on the way. Obviously this is a group we work with a lot and is going to help people when they're getting ready to prepare their taxes.”
There are plenty of other smaller, more targeted tax credits including some for the energy industry and even one that reduces the excise tax on champagne from one dollar to fifty cents per wine gallon.
