Hankinson is one game away from the Dakota Bowl

(WDAY Sports) - The Hankinson Pirates are also on the verge of something “Fargodomish”. They're at Hillsboro Saturday in the North Dakota 9-man semifinals, and a win gets them into the Dakota Bowl.

They lost two of their first 3 games, including a week 3 loss to Hillsboro without their quarterback Alex Althoff, but have gotten red hot, winning 7 straight games.

“Our goal was to get in the playoffs and anything more than that would be extra. Did I think we'd make it to the semifinals, no.

“It's amazing. We just try to take one game at a time and try to pull it off, we're a whole different team than when we played them last time we have a huge part of our offense back.”

Hillsboro also has two losses on the year.
