Moorhead leaders take a look at expansion

Moorhead, Minn. (WDAY TV) - Moorhead leaders are looking at plans to see what the city's future holds when it comes to expanding and flooding.

Tonight, the Planning Committee met with the public to look at the new growth plan. Most changes are to clerical figures, nothing major.

The biggest item approved is a land extension for development to the south side of 60th Avenue. It had been up to the road.

“Planning for flooding and dealing with water is a big part of city planning so I think this addendum is trying to address that making sure we're not developing in places we shouldn't be developing.”

The comprehensive plan also deals with re-development, street design, and economic concerns.
