Mud madness

(WDAY Sports) - The Wahpeton Huskies are supposed to have a home football game Saturday in the state semifinals, but they'll have to settle for the home of the Bison. The game with Devils Lake has been moved to the Fargodome because the fields in Wahpeton and neighboring Breckenridge are basically unplayable, monster truck rally yes, football game no.

It's not all bad with the Huskies’ speedy tailback and all, but it's tough to leave home.

“I'm pretty pumped because we've got Ryan Smith who can glide in the dome, but I’d rather play in the mud. We've won the last 3 games in the mud.”

“You know it's kind of disappointing, the kids wanted to play at home and I wanted to play at home, there is just something about getting on a bus for a home game and I told the kids that home is where you make it.”

Fargo South has also moved its state semifinal to the dome. The Bruins meet Century at 1:30 Saturday.
