(WDAY TV) - An update on a story we've been following for you, the wounded bald eagle found near the Tamarac National Wildlife Refuge in August, may soon be set free.

The eagle has been recovering at the Raptor Center at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. Officials there say it came to them thin and frail, but now she only has a few wounds that need to heal.

The center plans to release the bird along the Mississippi River at the U of M where the eagles congregate each winter.
