2 People Hospitalized in Moorhead Fire

Moorhead, MN (WDAY-TV) -- Two people are hospitalized after a house fire in Moorhead overnight.

Firefighters were called to a home at 1207 20th Street North just before 1:00 am.

Fire broke out in the basement of the home, causing extensive fire and smoke damage.

Crew knocked the blaze down quickly.

Rescuers had to go in and get Lyle Erickson, who had collapse by the door.

He and his wife, Norma, are hospitalized at Meritcare.

They are both in critical, but stable condition.

Investigators aren’t sure what caused the fire yet, but spent several hours digging through the charred basement overnight.

Moorhead, Fargo and Dilworth Fire Departments responded.
