American Indian Heritage month kicks off at MSUM

Moorhead, Minn. (WDAY TV) - Minnesota State University Moorhead kicked off its American Indian Heritage month today.
White Earth National Spiritual Advisor Earl Hoagland led a traditional pipe ceremony today.
The event took place in front of the library on the campus lawn.
People involved say it's a blessing for the month, like a prayer. The group passed around a pipe. The ceremony lasts around 10 minutes.
