Moorhead, Minn. (WDAY TV) - It's Election Day across the state of Minnesota. In Moorhead, voter turnout is steady and surprising. There aren't that many issues on the city of Moorhead’s ballot this year, which is why election officials are surprised at the turnout.

There are only three issues to vote on: Moorhead Mayor, City Councilmen, and a school operating levy referendum. Veteran Election Judge Mary Holthe says she remembers off-election years when only one hundred voters came through in 12 hours.

This year, more than 500 voters passed through Triumph Lutheran Church before one o'clock.

“It’s amazing that we have as many as we're getting. I think it's the school election.”
