Detroit Lakes, Minn. (WDAY TV) - An apparent deal has been reached that will finally finish a quiet zone in Detroit Lakes. For months, the 60 million dollar project to silence train whistles has been on hold.
The city and BNJSF Railroad were at odds over the Kris Street crossing and who would be responsible for any liabilities.
The details of the agreement will be approved at the Detroit Lakes City Council meeting next week. Once approved, the quiet zone project can move forward. 60-trains go through Detroit Lakes every day.
