FARGO, N.D. (AP) — Cass County authorities have charged a man with manslaughter in the weekend death of a 2-month-old girl, saying he got drunk and passed out on top of the child while he was babysitting.

Arthur Berger also is charged with child abuse or neglect. His bail was set Monday at $25,000.

Fargo police said the baby was not breathing when found about 2 a.m. Saturday at a Fargo home. They have described the 46-year-old Berger as a transient who knew the child's family but was not a relative. Jail records said Berger was born in Dickinson.

Berger's attorney said Monday he had not yet had a chance to review the case.
