Deer nearly breaks into Grand Forks home

(WDAZ TV) - A Grand Forks couple got quite the frightening surprise. A deer tried to jump right through their front door!

The Strauses came home to find the broken glass and a deer curled up by the fence in their backyard. It unsuccessfully tried to leap through the glass door. Police say this odd incident may seem rare, but it happens more than people think.

“It was hurt. Front shoulders must have been broken because it couldn't walk."

"A couple years ago on Thanksgiving we had one that got hit by a car on 28th and south Washington, so there are deer in town quite often.”

The damage was quickly repaired. The Strausses say they are lucky the deer didn't try to jump through their other large windows.
