Crews work on 3rd phase of flood protection project

(WDAY TV) - Crews are hoping wet weather doesn't slow progress on the flood protection project going on in Wahpeton-Breckenridge. Since the 97 flood, the two cities have been building permanent dikes and upgrading sewer-water systems.
These crews are working on stage three of flood protection near the bridge that connects the two cities. As a result of the projects, older dikes have been re-worked to meet army corps specs.
With the flood protection, Wahpeton-Breckenridge has also gained new recreational areas and walking paths.
