Several leads on victim's missing Porsche

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Police have new information on the murder of a south Fargo dentist. Police say a pickup, pulling a flatbed trailer with a silver Porsche was seen leaving the area Monday morning about 11:30. The pickup was a late 90's Chevy or GMC, black or dark, with a vinyl box cover.

The scene of the crime is relatively quiet, but the investigation continues in high gear. After several leads that didn’t pan out, police are still searching for a 1999 silver Porsche Boxter which is missing from 49-year old Philip Gatusso's ransacked home.

The local dentist was found dead Monday with severe head injuries. An autopsy was scheduled for this morning. Police want you to call them if you've seen any silver Porsche around the area.

As we told you before, Gatusso's wife, Valerie, died of health complications earlier this year, so their three year old daughter, who was staying with a friend, is now in the temporary custody of her aunt, Valerie's sister.

Preliminary autopsy results show Gatusso died from a head injury. The neighborhood where the crime occurred is packed-in among doctor and dental offices, restaurants, even a child care center, which is where jams McMahn works.

He gets off at a bus stop just a block away from the crime scene, and then walks a few blocks, past Gatusso's office to his own workplace. He says the area doesn't feel the same, and he'll be more cautious, especially at night, considering there are no suspects in custody.

“Probably reasons why they happened, and probably not good ones, so I just hope it doesn't happen to anyone else.”

Police Chief Keith Ternes says he can't guarantee people's safety, but says he does not think the public needs to be concerned for their safety based on this one event.
