Schultz finishes 33rd

Fargo's David Schultz has had a roller coaster ride on the Nationwide Tour this year.

(WDAY Sports) - Fargo's David Schultz has had a roller coaster ride on the Nationwide Tour this year. From not playing an event till May to three straight top five finishes. He would need another top five finish today in the final round of the Nationwide Tour Championship and he'd wrap his PGA Tour card for 2010.

He started in 49th position, but it was another struggle on the course in Charleston, South Carolina. Here at the 18th, Schultz in the bunker at the par five, but hits a terrific shot to get out of the sand. Then has this putt for birdie and it goes down.

Schultz finishes at three over, and in 52nd place, not good enough to earn his tour card.

Schultz finishes the year 33rd on the money list with just over 159 thousand dollars. Not the end of the season he was hoping for.

“Very disappointing, I've had some expectations, coming into this week and I didn't live up to them and I’m pretty disappointed right now. This is going to hurt for a little while, going to go straight to final stage and try and get my tour card that way. Kind of got behind the 8 ball early, each of the first two rounds seemed like I was grinding instead of playing loose and free. So I’ll learn from it, pretty disappointing.

Now with today's finish Schultz is guaranteed to play a full season on the nationwide next year, but he is going to Q-school in December to try and earn his card again.
