Breckenridge Mayor thinking about re-election

Breckenridge, Minn. (WDAY TV) - One year before his term ends, the Mayor of Breckenridge is mulling the idea of running for re-election. Mayor Cliff Barth is in his 11th year on the job. It's his 5th term.

He hasn't made up his mind on running yet but he has a big goal. Barth wants to see the city protected from one end to the other with flood control. If re-elected, he says he'll stay in office and get the project done.

"I made a promise that I would see this flood protection built before I quit so that's the driving factor. And it's up to the citizens if they want me back you know and if I run for election again next year."

Barth plans to make a decision next year on whether he'll seek the office again.
