(WDAY TV) - The greater Fargo-Moorhead Economic Development Corporation is working closely with Concordia College, trying to bring high paying, technical jobs to the area. And the board thinks it’s found a good avenue, through the college's new global vaccine institute.
The research program started up three years ago, working on things like preventative health care, flu and other pandemics, and bio-logical threats. The FM EDC gave the institute 10 thousand dollars last year to help out.
They hope the program draws young people to the community, and keep them here.
“Feel like if we align our institutions to benefit and produce the right work for us, have the right talent in terms of faculty member, researchers, we can be a destination for those jobs.”
The FM EDC is looking at giving more money to the program in the future, but that won't be until after the first of the year.
