There's concern already growing about one flood protection option revealed by the Army Corps of Engineers.

(WDAY TV) - There's concern already growing about one flood protection option revealed by the Army Corps of Engineers. Right now, the most likely and most cost effective option is a Minnesota diversion to the east of Moorhead, but that plan is concerning city leaders in Dilworth.

Mayor Keith Coalwell says so far, they've had very little say about the options and we told a Minnesota plan would most likely not happen. Now Coalwell is concerned about future development.

“It’s going to be a very spendy proposition to probe. And that's the direction we're trying to grow is north and east, so anything to the east of us is going to slow us down.”

Local leaders must pick their proffered protection options by December first.
