Fergus Falls, Minn. (WDAY TV) - Fergus Falls is trying to decide how to fund a new ice arena. Supporters are asking for nearly 5 million dollars.

City council members say about 3.3 million has been pledged. The council held a special hour and a half meeting today to talk about raising taxes to come up with the rest. As of now, the arena would be built next to the high school gymnasium.

“That seems to be the best location for it right now because it'll tie into the other activities going on around the school grounds it will also serve as a central part in the community so we could use it for additional events.”

The extra meeting was scheduled today because of the number of comments and concerns at the council's last meeting.
