(WDAY TV) - A blast from the past is making its way across the valley, heading back home. The southern pacific's famous Daylight steam locomotive is completing a rare 33-hundred mile trip, from Portland, Oregon to Michigan, and back again.

The Daylight, and her special passenger train, takes passengers across the plains and Rocky Mountains, to look at the vibrant fall colors.

The Daylight was first built in 1941. This is the first time in 25-years; daylight has ventured from her home of Portland.
