Dilworth, Minn. (WDAY TV) - City leaders in Dilworth say they've had enough and now they're taking legal action. They're filing a lawsuit against Van Raden Properties, for an ongoing upkeep and maintenance problem at a mobile home park in town.

It's not just city leaders who are upset about the properties, people living in the park have raised concerns, because of the poor condition of the trailers, and the trouble they bring with them. City leaders want to look inside the five properties to try and decide if they should be condemned, or saved.

One of the trailers causing problems is abandoned, and is now boarded up. Mayor Coalwell says this particular trailer is now becoming a hot spot for passers by, to hang out and party, and even a drop off place for drugs.

Coalwell says the city has tried to get it cleaned up for the past 18 months, by writing letters to Van Raden Properties, but so far, nothing has worked.

“And it's just, time to move forward with it, and press the issue a little bit and hopefully, like I said, come up with a mutual resolve, outside of court.”

Roger Van Raden owns the park, he says there have been confusion between him and the city leaders, as to what they want done. He has 20 days to respond to the suit, Mayor Coalwell says if Van Raden makes progress and starts fixing up the park, the city will drop the suit.
