(WDAY TV) - Before you head out to get your pumpkin for Halloween, a story you might want to see; the record-setting winner of the World Championship Pumpkin Weigh-off in Half Moon Bay, California.
The gigantic gourd weighed in at 1,658-pounds. The jumbo jack-o-lantern was grown by Don Young of Des Moines, Iowa. He drove two-thousand miles for the competition and will now take home about 10-thousand dollars.
The world's heaviest pumpkin on record weighed 1,725 pounds.
