Twin Cities man charged for crash that injured a Detroit Lakes woman

(WDAY TV) - A Twin Cities man is charged in Becker County for a crash last week that seriously injured a Detroit Lakes woman. 40-year-old Bret Rounsville from Brooklyn Center is charged with DWI and 3 counts of criminal vehicular operation resulting in great bodily harm.

Police say Rounsville was driving a pickup at a high rate of speed and couldn't make a sharp curve near Frazee. 37-year-old Shanty Washburn was thrown from the truck when it rolled into the ditch last Thursday.

Washburn had emergency surgery in Detroit Lakes before being Life-Flighted to Fargo. Court records show Rounsville's had a blood alcohol level of 0.17 at the time of the crash.
