Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - A dramatic turn in the number of people going to Job Service in Fargo for help finding work. Numbers have dropped to 16-hundred people every week.
That's one thousand fewer than April. People are looking for work especially around the holidays. Still, only four companies are using job service for seasonal hires.
Officials say more businesses are being cautious. They are waiting to hire later in the season, seeing how sales go, or not advertising.
"More people are drawing unemployment insurance. I don't know if they've given up or they learned to use our system and they're looking for jobs at home and we know some employers are not listing openings because they have enough traffic just walking in the office."
Unemployment in the metro is still at 4.1 percent with about 18 hundred open positions.
