MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — A 22-year-old Otsego man who was driving drunk in a crash that killed a pregnant passenger was sentenced to nearly seven years in prison Friday.

Frank Tregoning apologized in court Friday to the family of 22-year-old Jamie Baer of Crystal. He pleaded guilty earlier to criminal vehicular homicide and two other counts.

Prosecutors say Tregoning was driving more than 100 miles an hour when his car crashed on Interstate 94 near Highway 101 in Rogers in August 2008. He had a blood alcohol level of 0.10 percent.

Baer was six months pregnant. She sent several text messages to friends for help before the crash, including one that said, "I'm going 160 with a drunk driver — Going to die."

Doctors saved her baby, who still has serious health problems. Another passenger survived.
