GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — Grand Forks police are putting up wanted posters and offering a $7,000 reward for information leading to whoever stabbed a man in his home last month.
The posters show a sketch based on the recollections of the victim and his wife.
The victim, 41-year-old Tom Schirrick, was hospitalized for four days after he was stabbed in the chest early on Sept. 17. Police believe the intruder got in the home by slashing a window screen.
Investigators said the intruder used a steak knife with a black plastic handle that he apparently brought into the home. Lt. Rahn Farder said police have no evidence linking the break-in to any others.
Schirrick's employer, Minnkota Power, and his co-workers have been raising money for a reward.
