High school volleyball matches raise money for charities

(WDAY Sports) - There were some high profile events of a different kind on the local scene tonight; two high school volleyball matches raising money for charity.

There were some high profile events of a different kind on the local scene tonight; two high school volleyball matches raising money for charity.

(WDAY Sports) - There were some high profile events of a different kind on the local scene tonight; two high school volleyball matches raising money for charity.

In Barnesville, the lady Trojans donned pink jerseys for cancer awareness in their match up with D-G-F. Set one, home team sets it to Holly Vancura for the smash, but D-G-F wins set one 25-14.

More than 300 t-shirts were sold with proceeds benefiting the Roger Maris Cancer Center. There was a silent auction as well. D-G-F would end up winning the match 3 sets to none. Sara Anderson with one of her match high 10 kills. A job well done to everyone in Barnesville tonight.

In Casselton, purple was the color of choice as Central Cass raised money for Alzheimer's research as they took on Thompson. Central Cass took the first set.

In set two, Courtney Dixon with one of her 6 blocks. She also had 11 kills, Squirrels win 25-21.

Move to set three, Jenna Beilke with one of her 6 kills. Central Cass improves to 24-3 on the season with the 3-0 win over Thompson. Nice job to everyone in Casselton.
