ND man arrested on child-porn charges

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — A Thompson man faces criminal charges after being accused of sharing child pornography over the Internet.

Simon Korst appeared Friday in state District Court. Bond for the 22-year-old was set at $7,500, and he later posted bail.

Korst faces one count each of possessing child pornography and promoting an obscene performance by a minor. If convicted, he could spend up to 15 years in prison.

The North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation seized Korst's computer in January. The unit says videos showing children in a sexual manner were found on the computer.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 2.
