Renner takes lead in walleye tourney
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Minnesota pro angler Tony Renner took the lead Friday in the Wal-Mart FLW Walleye Tour Championship.
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Minnesota pro angler Tony Renner took the lead Friday in the Wal-Mart FLW Walleye Tour Championship.
Renner, of Hutchinson, Minn., and his co-angler, Lowell Joy of Bemidji, Minn., brought in five walleyes weighing 24 pounds, 8 ounces on Friday.
Renner holds a lead of 8 pounds over his closest rivals.
Pros and amateurs are randomly paired each day and fish for a combined boat weight.
The tournament features more than 100 competitors from 16 states and Canada. It will award as much as $150,000 cash to the winning professional.
