Parking lot still the missing ingredient for the Fargo Force

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Almost everything's in place for a big Fargo Force season opener expected to bring at least 26-hundred visitors, 800 more than last year's pre-sale. It's a recipe for a good time, but one ingredient is still missing.

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Almost everything's in place for a big Fargo Force season opener expected to bring at least 26-hundred visitors, 800 more than last year's pre-sale. It's a recipe for a good time, but one ingredient is still missing.

There is parking available for tonight’s game, but you're going to have to get here early and you may have to walk a ways because the main parking lot still isn't finished.

There are 450 spots available now on surrounding streets and a west side gravel lot. This unfinished lot fits 500 cars and is scheduled to open by next Friday’s game.

The recommendation until then is to take a shuttle, either from Mexican Village on 45th Street or the Southwest Hockey Arena.

“Parking's huge. That was the biggest hurdle we had last year. A lot of people came out and attended one game, but didn't come back due to parking, so getting that done will really help with attendance and get people out here and exposed to the Fargo Force.”

Leapaldt says all that's left to do on this main parking lot is to dry it out and lay the pavement. He says whether or not its finished next week depends on the weather. The Mexican Village shuttle will continue even once all the parking lots are complete.
