Moorhead, Minn. (WDAY TV) - Not much controversy yet, but that could change tonight. Former White House Advisor Karl Rove landed in Fargo today, and is speaking at Concordia tonight. Rove arrived just after 3 this afternoon; he received a small ovation from around 30 people.

After a few handshakes Rove answered questions, Rove says despite less money he likes speaking to college campuses rather than big business conventions. Rove talked about President Obama's health care talks, calling out the President on his statistics.

Like 46 million people the President says who live without health insurance. Rove says he will talk about the health care issue in tonight’s speech as a conservative not a Republican.

“You can't win the argument unless you make it, it's one of the reasons I like going to campuses because I’m going into territory that's not ours, it's un-friendly but I’d rather be there. Look I debated James Carville in Boston, in New York, and in Chicago in May. Those are not exactly hot beds of Republicanism but I was happy to take him on because I want to win the argument.”

Rove will be speaking on Concordia's campus at 7:30 tonight; the event is open to the public. Rove is also traveling to Minot and the Host Fest where he will be inducted into the Scandinavian-American Hall of Fame.
