Thief River Falls, Minn. (WDAY TV) - A Thief River Falls dairy farm continues to violate Minnesota's air quality standards. The Minnesota pollution control agency says Excel Dairy surpassed the state limit for hydrogen sulfide emissions between August 29th and September 21st.

Hydrogen sulfide can result in a rotten egg odor and repeated exposure can cause persistent eye and throat irritation along with headaches and nausea.

In January, the health department labeled the farm a public health hazard. About 12 families live within a mile of the farm. The dairy is licensed for 11-hundred cows.
