'Sandbag Bowl' pits Lisbon and Valley City
LISBON, N.D. (AP) — Valley City and Lisbon are starting a football tradition aimed at honoring the flood-fighting spirit shown by area residents last spring.

LISBON, N.D. (AP) — Valley City and Lisbon are starting a football tradition aimed at honoring the flood-fighting spirit shown by area residents last spring.
The two towns' high school football teams will square off in the inaugural "Sandbag Bowl."
The first game in what will be an annual series is set for 7 p.m. in Lisbon.
The winner of Friday's game will get what is being dubbed the "Volunteer Trophy."
