Sabin, Minn. (WDAY TV) - A rural Sabin man says he fears for his life after two men robbed him and tied him to a chair with duct tape. Wayne Schindler has cuts and scrapes from the incident. No one has been arrested, but Clay County authorities are working with law enforcement in central North Dakota to track down the alleged robbers.

What Clay County investigators have going for them is the fact Schindler knows the alleged attackers.

“They told me they were coming to rob me and I said oh yeah, you are going to have to go thru me first. Well, they did.”

Schindler says the men who robbed him and tied him up have a history with the law back in central North Dakota where he has family. Schindler says the men not only tied him with tape to a chair. They stole a gun and then roughed him up.

“They could have broke my neck, I mean my whole throat.”

“This was not a random act so right now the neighbors in that area should not be afraid because it appears this was a target than a random thing.”

Meantime Clay County investigators made castings of tracks near Schindler’s rural Sabin farm; hoping evidence gathered here along with Schindler’s eyewitness account will put someone behind bars.

Meantime, Schindler remains on edge fearful that these alleged attackers will come back again.
