Badly needed grocery store to be built in Finley

Finley, Minn. (WDAY TV) - A business being built in Finley could be more beneficial than most, leaders say it could save the town.

Finley, Minn. (WDAY TV) - A business being built in Finley could be more beneficial than most, leaders say it could save the town.

The economic development committee is helping pay for a new grocery store to be built. The current one, stone's market, is rundown. The floor isn't level and the roof leaks. It's one of just two in Steele County.

The new 300 thousand dollar store will have wider isles and larger coolers.

"Just like our logo on our water tower says people, pride, and progress. You have to have the people, you have to have pride in your community, and you have to have progress to keep the community, otherwise your town disappears. So that's what we're trying to do, keep it going."

The store should be finished by this winter.
