Perley, Minn. (WDAY TV) - A Perley, Minnesota farmer got quite the surprise harvesting his wheat crop. Friends and family jumped in combines to help Bill Borgen Jr farm.

The 84 year old actively farms 16 hundred acres mainly by himself every year. His girlfriend helps, too. Tonight, a different story, nine combines went back and forth over 150 acres to harvest.

Borgen isn't sick, loved ones just wanted to lend a helping hand. He says he appreciates the help.

“I’d like to be done, that's for sure. I could have done it, but if it rains Sunday, then I’ll be glad we're done.”

Borgen has been farming for 61 years. He says he has no plans to retire anytime soon much to the dismay of his family.
