Local golfer gets hot in August

(WDAY Sports) - High level golfers will tell you that you never know when you're gonna get hot and David Schultz is living proof.

At the end of July he'd only made two cuts and a tie for 21st place was his best finish, but he went to Ohio as August began and promptly tallied three straight top five finishes, where he won 130 grand and shot up the money list.

Now he's tied for 21st, and if he can stay there through the next six events, he'll earn membership to the PGA Tour for next season.

“I wrote some goals up before Columbus and I accomplished those goals in 3 weeks so I had to write out some new goals and right now it's just staying focused on the next tournament and looking forward to getting up to Boise and do it all over again.”

Schultz has four top 10 finishes in his last six tournaments.
