Fargo, ND (WDAY Sports) - RedHawks fans didn't get much chance to enjoy their teams' Northern League Championship. Winning the title 675 miles from home in Gary Indiana tends to sap the celebration. So tonight, two nights after finishing off a 3-1 series win, the Hawks gave the patrons a chance to bask in just a bit of the glory.
About 150 fans got to hear from the team and watch a new piece of fabric fly proudly in the north Fargo breeze.
“This was kind of important for myself because I haven't been in the winner's circle in three years, but hey I’m glad these kids got to experience it, we had some guys that were disheartened because we got blown out in the playoffs.”
“We all had the mindset that this was our championship to win, let's go out there and win it, and that was from day 1 to last Saturday, we had a confidence about us.”
The Hawks have won titles in 1998, 2003, 2006 and now in 09.
